God saved me, and He took away my addictions as well
Hi there friend.
Certainly it’s a blessing to have God save us & remove our addictions. But none of this can happen unless and until we own our sin guilt. To genuinely know God, to have His peace, we must first own our bankruptcy of merit and the filth that is our mortal flesh.
We’re not basically good people;
we’re basically bad people.
And when we’ve been quickened to accept that we’re basically bad people and we cry out to Jesus for mercy, God gives us our new identity in the spiritual perfection of possessing the imputed righteousness of the risen Lord JesusChrist.
That’s the simple truth that’ll not only set you free of your guilt, shame, and addictions,…but you’ll truly understand what it is to live in the vitality of Isaiah 61.10.
“I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.”
All glory to the risen Lord Jesus Christ, and no glory to us whatsoever!
