Are you among the people who’ve gravitated toward the trending mindset that the PCE (pure Cambridge edition) of the King James Bible circa 1900 is the purest & best KJV edition?
I’ve noticed this trend getting a lot of traction lately, and it’s all so needlessly divisive in the body of Christ. Not only does it foster a sort of Bible snobbery, but it causes people to doubt the perfect word of God.
Listen, I’m no KJV expert, but I am KJV only all the way.
And I’m fully content with ANY Authorized edition of the King James Bible.
Because far as I can tell, the only difference between the 1769 edition and the 1900 edition from Cambridge is whether or not certain words are capitalized. (I own copies of both, and one isn’t preferable over the other).
And to the best of my knowledge, ALL editions of the Authorized Version reference God as “he.”
So the debate over one which edition of the Authorized Version is more pure than another edition because of whether or not certain words are capitalized seems (to me) to be a needless & frivolous contention of division in the body of Christ.
The Christians who owned a copy of the KJV in 1630, 1846, and 1901 were all holding an equally-pure copy God’s pure, preserved, and perfect word.
Let that information minister help to you my friend.
All glory to the risen Lord Jesus Christ, and no glory to us whatsoever!
