Why turning from sin is law-keeping, and can never be a component of justification before God

Although turning from sin is always God’s will for His children. Our turning from sin is imperfect, and is never a component of our justification before God.

Notice in scripture that sin is the transgression of the law. The reciprocal truth to that is, not sinning is keeping the law.

If God hasn’t quickened this truth to you, prayerfully meditate on the following verses until it’s quickened in your spirit. You will then see that not only does not sinning not contribute to our justification before God, but it can’t be backloaded for our justification before God either.

Galatians 2.21 “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness comeby the law, then Christ is dead in vain.”

1 John 3.4 “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”

Romans 3.20 “Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”

Matthew 5.48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”

Hebrews 10.14 “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”
