What about approaches to God other than faith alone in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ? Approaches such as: works/behavior-based Christianity, Judaism, mysticism, higher enlightenment, Islam, Hinduism, morality, patriotism, or (fill in the blank)…They all claim faith in God, (some even claim faith in Christ) and they all strive to do good. Aren’t they all connected to God in their own way?
God has already answered that question:
“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then I will profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7.22,23
“But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” Romans 4.5
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14.6
“Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: but he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.” 1 John 2.23
God allowed the murder of His only begotten, and perfect Son, so that humanity would have access to redemption. No one can side-step Jesus, (as you just read in scripture) and still access God. Everyone who rejects the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour is under the dominion of Satan.
