The topic of this article, is that we Christians have the best teacher in the world, because our teacher is God. And 1 Corinthians chapter 2 covers this truth extensively and magnificently.
And scripture is replete with proof that God is our teacher…
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26.
I know of nothing more fulfilling than to spend time in God’s word. Because it’s like running your hands through a bottomless treasure chest of jewels. It’s magnificent! This is God communing with us, His very words are alive and speak to us. And it’s the Holy Ghost Who indwells us that gives us discernment to His words as we read them.
He teaches us to understand scripture’s correct meaning, in accurate context, harmonious with the overarching message of the bible. And this sort of discernment is how we know truth from error when we encounter religious teachings.
Therefore, we absolutely MUST search the scriptures to confirm or reject every teaching that someone presents to us. You’ll find that if you don’t automatically-believe what you’re taught, (putting that teaching on probation) until you can search the validity of the context of what you’re being taught, and whether or not that teacher has a doctrinal agenda, you’ll save yourself from believing a lot of error.
Because many bible teachers, (and bible study materials), have a biased-agenda built into their teaching. And while many of these teachers are sincere Christians, some also promote false teachings. Such as Calvinism, dispensationalism, charismaticism, Etc.
All we desire is the truth, not systematic theologies & doctrines of men. And the only source of truth is the word of God, in union with the teaching of the Holy Ghost. So you can prayerfully read & enjoy His word with the full confidence that God is right there with you, teaching you. Isn’t that exciting?
Blessings to you, and have a great day in the Lord!
