My salvation testimony. The loving saving grace of Jesus Christ.

Just to give you some scale of my age, I was born in 1965.

Throughout my life, I have been a very evil sinner, and I know that I deserve to be thrown into hell.

I’ve had two coming to Christ seasons in my life. The first was when I was a young adult in the mid 1980s. Then after a couple of years, I abandoned all Christian activity, and I became increasingly wicked over the next couple of decades.

Then in the summer of 2012, God intensely drew me to Himself as I went about my usual life. A war raged for my soul that I pray I’ll never forget. My burden of guilt, and craving for forgiveness from God was more intense than my limited vocabulary can adequately describe. God drew me to Himself by letting me feel in my consciousness the guilt of my sinful behaviors that I’d committed throughout my life. And He made me acutely aware in my consciousness of the pain and hurt that I had caused to other people. My guilt was repeatedly surfacing in my consciousness, one hidden sin after the other was coming to my mind. And throughout all of this, I was continually seeking God’s forgiveness from a repentant heart. Over and over I’d be on my face seeking God’s forgiveness, no matter where I was…at home, at work, on the roadside. And I was also internally compelled to seek forgiveness from the people that I’d harmed. And seeking their forgiveness was scary, because I stood to suffer life-changing consequences if those people didn’t show me mercy. But I owed it to them to seek their forgiveness, and God saw me through all of it.

And as this season of guilt-consciousness was happening, God was revealing His love and grace to me. Then one night while I was driving, something beautifully miraculous clicked within me. I really believed that I was fully forgiven by Jesus’ payment on the cross…This revelation of God’s grace literally had me yelling in blissful relief in the cab of my truck! “I’m forgiven! I’m really and truly forgiven!” And I was jumping up and down with joy! My entire sin debt was forgiven!

Oh the relief !!!

And I was also baptized by immersion.

But receiving forgiveness isn’t the only blessing given to us in salvation. We are made spiritually alive from spiritual death, and we are immeasurably loved by our Father, (Who cares for even our most trivial concerns in life). He indwells us with His Spirit, and Christ is in us as we are in Christ.

All glory to the risen Lord Jesus Christ.

Below is some encouraging scripture about salvation for you…

1 Corinthians 15.1-4

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”

Romans 10.9-13

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Ephesians 2.8,9

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

  1. Very True Lee as you shared, Jesus has set us free from the Slavery of Sin. We are to put our Carnal Flesh to death by the Spirit’s empowering as we Aim to be Perfected in Love, which we see confirmed in the Scriptures below and than we no longer Sin, we can’t, we have God’s Seed or Nature, we are Born Again, the Old has gone the New has come, we Walk as Jesus did in Righteousness and Holiness. (Scriptures from all King James Versions)
1 John 3:9 No one who is Born of God will continue to Sin because God’s seed remains in him he cannot go on Sinning because he has been Born of God.
But some ask; “What if we do Sin before we are Perfected in Love” we are to work out our Salvation but not meaning work for it and as we both know Lee we have Jesus as our Advocate, He intercedes for us after Repentance.
God tells us to put our Carnal flesh to death by The Spirit which causes us to Sin……..
Romans 8 :12-15 Therefore, brothers we have an obligation but it is not to the Sinful nature to live according to it or if you live according to the Sinful nature you will die but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body you will live because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
Colossians 3:4-6 When Christ, who is your life, appears then you also will appear with Him in glory. Put to death therefore whatever belongs to your earthly nature; sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.
Galatians 24 -26 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts, if we live in the Spirit let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
2 Corinthians 7: 1 Having therefore these promises dearly beloved let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit Perfecting Holiness in the fear of God.
God tells us to Aim to be Perfected in Love…….
Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore Perfect even as your Father which is in Heaven is Perfect.
Hebrews 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ let us go on unto Perfection not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of Faith toward God.
Philippians 3:14-16 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore as many as be Perfect be thus minded and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded God shall reveal even this unto you. Nevertheless where to we have already attained let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.
2Timothy 3:17 That the Man of God may be Perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
1John 4:16-19 And we have known and believed the Love that God hath to us. God is Love; and he that dwelleth in Love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our Love made Perfect that we may have boldness in the day of judgment because as He is so are we in this World. There is no fear in Love but Perfect Love casteth out fear because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made Perfect in Love. We Love Him because He first Loved us.
1 John 2:4-6 He that saith I know Him and keepeth not His Commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth His word in him verily is the Love of God Perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him. He that saith hebideth in Him ought himself also so to walk even as He walked.
Colossians 1:27-29 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles which is Christ in you the Hope of glory Whom we preach warning every man and teaching every man in all Wisdom; that we may present every man Perfect in Christ Jesus Where unto I also labour, striving according to His working which worketh in me mightily(KJV)
2Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be Perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in Peace and the God of Love and Peace shall be with you.
God tells us Lee to reckon ourselves dead to Sin not to say we will or do Sin and we are to put to death by the Spirit our evil flesh which causes us to Sin and Aim to be Perfected in Love and we can do this because Jesus has set us free and no Temptation is greater then we can bear. What we believe in our heart dominates our thoughts and becomes our words and actions. Proverbs 23:7a K.J.V
Romans 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto Sin but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
God tells us when we are Born Again we no longer Sin……….
1 John 3:9 No one who is Born of God will continue to Sin, because God’s seed remains in him he cannot go on Sinning because he has been Born of God.
1John 5 18-20 We know that no one who is Born of God Sins but He who was Born of God keeps him and the evil one does not touch him.
1John 3 – No one who lives in Him keeps on Sinning, No one who continues to Sin has either seen Him or known Him. Dear Children do not let anyone lead you astray he who does what is right is Righteous, just as He is Righteous.
John 8:34-36 Jesus replied, “I tell you the Truth everyone who Sins is a slave to Sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
Romans 6:18-20 Being then made free from Sin, ye became the Servants of Righteousness.
Romans 6:22-23 But now being made free from Sin and become Servants to God ye have your fruit unto Holiness and the end Everlasting Life. For the wages of Sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 John 2:4-6 He that saith I know Him and keepeth not His Commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth His word in him verily is the Love of God Perfected hereby know we that we are in Him. He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to Walk even as He Walked.
1John 4:16-19 And we have known and believed the Love that God hath to us. God is Love and he that dwelleth in Love dwelleth in God and God in him. Herein is our Love made Perfect that we may have boldness in the day of Judgment because as He is so are we in this world. There is no fear in Love but Perfect Love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made Perfect in Love. We Love Him, because He first Loved us. (KJV)
Romans 6:6- 7 For we know that our old self was Crucified with Him so that the body of Sin might be done away with that we should no longer be Slaves to Sin because anyone who has died has been freed from Sin.
Romans 6 : 1 – 2 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in Sin that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we that are dead to sin live any longer therein? (KJV)
1 Peter 1:21-23 Being Born again not of corruptible seed but of incorruptible by the Word of God which liveth and abideth for ever.(KJV)
Romans 8: 8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.(KJV)
Romans 8 :12-15 Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation but it is not to the sinful nature to live according to it or if you live according to the Sinful nature you will die but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body you will live because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. (KJV)
Romans 6:5-7 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection. Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him that the body of Sin might be destroyed that henceforth we should not serve Sin. For he that is dead is freed from Sin.(KJV)
Romans 6:22-23 But now being made free from Sin and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto Holiness and the end everlasting life. For the wages of Sin is death but the gift of God is Eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.(KJV)
1 Peter 2:24 Who His own self bare our Sins in His own body on the tree that we being dead to sins should live unto righteousness by whose stripes ye were healed.(KJV)
Ephesians 4:23-24 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind And that ye put on the new man which after God is created in righteousness and True Holiness.(KJV)
Titus 2:13-15 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ who gave Himself for us that He might redeem us from all iniquity and purify unto Himself a peculiar people zealous of good works. These things speak and exhort and rebuke with all Authority. Let no man despise thee.(KJV)
Daniel 12:10 Many shall be purified and made white and tried but the wicked shall do wickedly and none of the wicked shall understand but the wise shall understand. (KJV)
What people get confused about Lee are their weaknesses and shortcomings, which we all have but they are not judged as Sin, such as Anger when it comes from grief or confusion is not a Sin but we do not hold onto bitterness an resentment and seek revenge instead of forgiving, if we do it is Sin. Jesus came to heal not condemn , Man judges critically and without Love and Compassion because he looks on the outside but God sees the heart and knows the motivation or the reason.
We know Lee if we claim we have not Sinned and don’t need Salvation we are calling God liar but if we continue to Sin we are still in darkness (1John1) yes we can be-forgiven if we come to heart repentance but that means we reject Sin and no longer Sin by the empowering of The Holy Spirit as we can see clearly confirmed in Scripture. As shared before Paul explained the weakness of the flesh in Romans7 but shared what to do about it in Romans8 and other Scriptures as noted above.
All Sin can be forgiven Lee except falling away by rejecting Jesus Christ, this is calling The Holy Spirit a Liar or Blaspheming Him and if we do this how can we be brought back to Repentance if we reject Jesus the only way we can be forgiven but our rejection would not just be in our thinking but in our Heart too which God knows as He knows our Eternal Destiny and by The Holy Spirit we too will have assurance of our Salvation.
